Gravity Anomaly Modeling - Slab

This JavaScript program allows the user to display a gravity dataset, then vary geological parameters in order to model the dimensions and physical properties of a possible slab of more or less dense material that may have produced the anomaly observed in the data.

You can vary the depth and x-coordinate of the slab, its width, and the density contrast between the surrounding earth and the slab. If the data are biased above the y = 0 axis, use the bias control to shift the theoretical curve up or down. The position of the slab is changed by dragging the anomaly slider below the window. All other parameters are changed via the slider bars in the left panel and keyboard arrow keys. Click here for test data.
